School auxiliary worker is assaulted - wins £8,500
The claim
Mrs A worked as an auxiliary in a school for children with
learning difficulties. A pupil, aged 9, assaulted her and she was left
with bruises and post-traumatic stress disorder.
The result
We claimed compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation
Authority. The Authority initially refused her case, stating that a nine
year old could not commit a violent crime. We successfully appealed their
decision and Mrs A was awarded £8,500 compensation.
